Using the digital seismic data recorded by xi'an digital seismic network, the average value of apparent stresses of earthquakes in the middle and southern parts of Shaanxi province are calculated.The variation of the apparent stress before and after Jingyang M_L5.2 earthquake and the relationship between apparent stress and magnitudes are then discussed.
